THE EXPERIENCE

We invite you to step inside and let the löyly envelop you in a warming calmness that engages your senses. The perfect antidote to the stressors of life. A moment of escapism to lift your spirits and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. Immerse yourself in a momentary getaway, and emerge with a fresh flow of renewed energy.

In true Finnish spirit, The Salty Finn Sauna is a communal experienceBookings are for a single space in the sauna which can accommodate 5 people at a time. You can book multiple spaces if you are visiting with friends or family, or you can always book a private session if you are not game to share.

Sauna bookings include time for changing if required. However, please be aware that the change room is small,  therefore it is best if you come prepared with your swimsuit on to avoid ‘baring’ too much.

Traditional saunas are hot!  The heat can be controlled by adding water to the hot stones of the sauna stove. You can also move to different levels of the sauna seating if you need a break from the heat. Moving higher = hotter!  To gain the full benefits of hot-cold exposure, it is recommended that you spend 10-15 minutes in the sauna, before cooling off and then repeat!

For more information on what to bring to your session and other considerations, please see our

FAQ's and T&C's prior to booking.

RULES
1T3A6511-Edit.jpg

A few small things that make it better for everyone.

Skip perfume, oils and tan. This helps protect the sauna timber.

Never sit on bare timber. Towel down, always. This is the one rule no Finn will let slide.

Shut the door behind you, quickly. Letting the heat out is the closest a Finn comes to losing their temper.

Rinse your feet before you jump back in. Sand belongs on the beach.

Löyly is a gentle art. A ladle at a time over the rocks — never a bucket, and only the water we give you. Whoever's sitting closest will thank you.

Don't hurry. Ten to fifteen minutes, then out to the water, then back. There is no efficient way to have a sauna, and no medal for staying longest.

Silence is not awkward. Finns feel no need to fill it. If nobody's talking, nothing has gone wrong.

Leave your phone in your bag. Disconnect, enjoy your moment.
