The Salty Finn Sauna is a traditional timber-lined, woodfire sauna designed for an authentic Finnish communal sauna experience.

Enjoy crisp winter mornings and golden sunsets. Immerse yourself in the warm, inviting löyly (sauna steam) and then take the plunge into nearby icy water to receive the full benefits of hot and cold therapy.
During the ‘sauna season’ (April-November) The Salty Finn will be at various locations around South Australia. Follow us on social media to find our schedule of locations.

Bathers can book a 60-minute spot in the communal sauna (up to 6 people) or opt for a private booking. Come prepared to jump right in!
THE SALTY FINN SAUNA
Australian culture is fundamentally linked to summer and the beach way of life. However, the reality is, in many places, winters are cold and the ocean is freezing. Traditional sauna is a magical way to embrace winter and enjoy our beautiful Australian coastline all year round.
The Salty Finn brings together traditional Finnish sauna culture and the Australian love for the great outdoors. The mobile concept aims at taking advantage of our environment and beautiful beaches in the cooler winter months.
The custom-built trailer incorporates Finnish design and applies it to the Australian context. In true Finnish tradition, The Salty Finn is both a communal and nature-based experience. Patrons will connect with others and with the environment while reaping the health and wellbeing benefits of hot and cold therapy.

Hi! My name is Kate. Welcome to The Salty Finn Sauna. A truly Finnish experience, that I am so excited to share with you.
My passion for Finnish culture stems from my late Grandparents, Erkki and Helvi Aho. Migrating to Australia in the late 1950s, they worked hard to fit in, but there was always something a little different with those 'crazy Finns'.
Settling in South Australia, they built a beautiful family home full of quirky décor and, of course, a traditional Finnish sauna.

When I am in Finland, it feels like home. Each time I am there, I understand myself a little more. My mission is to share this with you. To create a space for solitude and peace, to foster human bonds and deepen our connection with nature.
My vision is simple, if I can’t bring you to Finland, I will bring Finland to you.
